02 · FRACTIONAL LEADERSHIP

Senior leadership, on your terms.

Experienced executive guidance without the full-time overhead. From 2 hours a month up to 2 days a week.

Who it is for

You need senior leadership for your technology, programmes or change, but not a full-time executive salary. Perhaps projects are drifting without anyone holding them to account, a transformation needs a steady hand, or your leadership team simply needs a trusted, experienced voice in the room. Fractional leadership gives you exactly as much of that as you need, and no more.

What we do

We embed alongside your team as your part-time senior leader. Depending on what you need, that can mean guiding technology decisions, leading programmes and projects, driving change, putting proper governance in place, or supporting an integration or merger. We hold the work accountable, keep it moving, and bring the experience of decades of hands-on operational leadership to your decisions.

What you get

Progress you can see. Projects that stay on track, decisions made with experienced input, and a leadership presence your team can lean on.

In practical terms, that means senior expertise at a fraction of the cost of a full-time executive, targeted to exactly what you need. An arrangement that flexes and scales as your business changes. A fresh perspective from outside your four walls. And faster implementation, because an experienced hand has usually seen the problem before. Because we work alongside your people rather than above them, capability stays in your business after we step back.

How long it takes

As long as it is useful and no longer. Engagements flex from 2 hours a month up to 2 days a week, and can scale up or down as your needs change. We agree the shape of it with you upfront and review it regularly.

How pricing works

A simple hourly or daily rate, agreed upfront. You pay for the time you actually need, and because the arrangement is flexible, you are never locked into more than you use.

Fractional leadership FAQ

What does fractional actually mean?

It means you get a senior leader for a fraction of their time, and a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire. The seniority is full-strength; only the hours are part-time.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Engagements start from as little as 2 hours a month. We would rather you start small and grow it because it is working than sign up for more than you need.

Do you work on site or remotely?

Both, whatever the work needs. We are based in Scotland and work remotely across the UK, coming to you when being in the room matters.

How is this different from hiring an interim manager?

An interim typically fills a full-time seat for a fixed period. Fractional leadership gives you the senior input without the full-time cost, and it flexes with you month to month.

Can we stop if our needs change?

Yes. The whole point is flexibility. We review the arrangement with you regularly and scale it up, down or off as your situation changes.
